I had a wonderful first Christmas! It snowed about 8 inches the week before Christmas, so many of our plans with extended family were either postponed or cancelled. On Christmas Eve, Grandma Chris and Grandpa Jack weathered the icy snowy roads to come see me and deliver presents. Daddy got his car stuck in the alley behind our house, and barely managed to get it back into the driveway after quite a bit of shoveling. Uncle Joe brought us dinner since we couldn't make it to Grandma Libby's house as planned. Then, Uncle Joe, Grandma Libby, Mommy, Daddy, and I all went to Christmas Eve service at church. We had visiting musicians from Spain who played Celtic carols. It was my first time hearing bagpipes or a tin whistle! I bounced happily on Grandma's lap for the first half of the service, and then I fell asleep in her arms. We all came back to my house, and the grown-ups had eggnog lattes and cookies before Grandma and Joe went home. On Christmas Day, we slept in until 11:30. Then we opened presents and I took a nice long nap. When I got up, it was time to leave for dinner at Aunt Alex and Uncle Mike's house. It was fun seeing my relatives, and the dogs weren't quite so scary this time!! Today, my Grandma Edna and Jim came by with MORE presents! On Sunday we will get to see some of my Daddy's extended family for a belated Christmas gathering. It will be my first time meeting Great Grandma and Grandpa Mahoney! Christmas won't really be over until January 11th this year, since that is when we will have our final holiday get together at Grandma Chris and Grandpa Jack's house. Merry Christmas everyone!
