Disaster at the dinner table

Mommy was so proud of me this evening!  I nursed, then ate half a container of green beans.  Disaster struck when she decided to let me have a little bit of oatmeal.  I got the hiccups, then I choked on a bite of oatmeal.  That made my tummy upset, and I threw up all over myself and the high chair!  That was not a fun clean-up... it took BOTH Mommy and Daddy to get me out of my high chair and into a clean pair of jammies!  I have been on a bottle strike for about three days now.  I don't really have a good reason for it, I just love my Mommy, and like my milk fresh!  So, tonight Mommy decided to let me try drinking from my silver baby cup.  I drank two ounces of milk mixed with cereal from the cup without spilling!  I liked chewing on the edge of the cup.  It helped make my sore gums feel better.  Mommy has decided that the next time she goes shopping for me, she is going to buy me a sippy cup.  I think I will really like it!

Giggles in the Jumperoo

Mommy and Daddy often let me jump right before bed to wear myself out.  I was sound asleep about five minutes after this video was taken!

This and that

I teased Mommy and Daddy a few nights ago and slept through the night!!  They were so proud of me.  I've been up every two hours in the couple of nights since then... like I said, I just like to tease them with the idea of a good night's sleep.  In other news, after holding off for several weeks, Mommy finally let me try green beans tonight.  She was fully expecting me to HATE them, because I gagged and cried when she gave me peas a few days ago.  But, I thought they were yummy!  I ate half a container of them mixed with oatmeal, and then polished them off with half a container of prunes.  Delicious!
No, Mommy does not style my hair...
I'm just blessed with a naturally awesome hairdo!
I don't really care what the book says, I just like to try to tear the pages out...
Or eat them!

A little video clip

Mommy and Daddy let me practice sitting up on their bed, since I have a nice soft landing when I flop.  Oh, and remember I told you that my new favorite game was peek-a-boo?  I played it with Mommy in this video!

Nothing like a romantic dinner for two... I mean, three.

Mommy and Daddy got take-out Thai food for Valentine's Day.  Daddy lit candles and bought Mommy roses and candy.  I gave Daddy a Valentine card.  Mommy let me hold it on our way to Daddy, and I chewed a hole in the corner of the envelope!  I wasn't tired at all when Mommy and Daddy were ready to start dinner, so they had to bring the swing into the kitchen.  I let them get through the main course, but by dessert, I wanted OUT of that thing!  I sat on Daddy's lap and pounded my hands on the table.  I could tell there was something exciting about the day, even though I wasn't quite sure what it was.  I wanted to keep partying, long after Mommy and Daddy were ready to call it a night!  I ended up cuddled in between them in bed, and I woke them up faithfully every two hours all night long.  Happy Valentine's Day!!

More pictures

Well, my new cousin arrived!  Mikayla Anne was 7lbs 10oz, 19 3/4 inches long.  I am looking forward to meeting her!  Auntie Alex thinks that I look HUGE in comparison... I AM getting quite large.  Mommy has had to stop carrying me in my carseat because she was getting bruises up and down her leg trying to lift me in it!  She also realized that I would need some more winter clothes that were in 9month size, and went out today to get a few things.  Even though the stores are phasing out the winter clothes and bringing in the spring clothes, we are going to have quite a bit more cold weather here before it is really spring!! Thanks Mommy for thinking ahead!  My gums have been bothering me a lot the past few days... Mommy and Daddy keep feeling for a tooth, but none to report yet.  I had my first diaper rash this week, which will explain why I am in a cloth diaper in one of the pictures down below.  We didn't have any diaper pins since I am normally exclusively a Pampers fellow, so Mommy got creative and tied a ribbon around my middle to keep the diaper up!!  It sure felt good to air dry for a little while.  Well, I am feeling whiney and desperately need some cuddle time with Mommy.  Daddy is baking cookies downstairs... it won't be long, and I'll be old enough to have a taste!

In my shorts on the day it was a balmy 58 degrees...hee hee!

5 Months

Well hello there!  Mommy and Daddy have both been under the weather the past few weeks, so it's been awhile since we've posted pictures.  I will be five months old tomorrow.  I am now able to sit up on my own, but I am still pretty wobbly, so Mommy and Daddy sit behind me just in case I flop.  I have also learned how to stick my tongue out in a little point, which Mommy and Daddy think is very funny!  My new favorite game is peek-a-boo.  I love it when Mommy and Daddy hide their faces and then say, "BOO".  If Mommy is holding me and Daddy is nearby, I will bury my face in Mommy's shoulder, and then turn my head around really fast to look at Daddy.  It is SO much fun!  Last night we played for about 45 minutes before Mommy and Daddy decided it was time to find a new game.  I have been having a growth spurt, which means my poor Mommy is very tired.  I am just so HUNGRY at night, that I have to wake her up about once every 90 minutes.  When I'm not growing, I am eating about once every three hours.  Mommy is going to start making some of my baby food in the food processor now that she knows what I like.  Prunes, sweet potatoes, and squash are my current favorites.  I have a new baby cousin (well, third cousin if you want to get technical) being born today!  Mikayla Ann Hansen is being delivered by c-section today.  We are waiting for that special phone call saying that she has arrived!

Five minutes later, down for the count.
