My first Christmas Part 2

I had a wonderful first Christmas!  It snowed about 8 inches the week before Christmas, so many of our plans with extended family were either postponed or cancelled.  On Christmas Eve, Grandma Chris and Grandpa Jack weathered the icy snowy roads to come see me and deliver presents.  Daddy got his car stuck in the alley behind our house, and barely managed to get it back into the driveway after quite a bit of shoveling.  Uncle Joe brought us dinner since we couldn't make it to Grandma Libby's house as planned.  Then, Uncle Joe, Grandma Libby, Mommy, Daddy, and I all went to Christmas Eve service at church.  We had visiting musicians from Spain who played Celtic carols.  It was my first time hearing bagpipes or a tin whistle!  I bounced happily on Grandma's lap for the first half of the service, and then I fell asleep in her arms.  We all came back to my house, and the grown-ups had eggnog lattes and cookies before Grandma and Joe went home.  On Christmas Day, we slept in until 11:30.  Then we opened presents and I took a nice long nap.  When I got up, it was time to leave for dinner at Aunt Alex and Uncle Mike's house.  It was fun seeing my relatives, and the dogs weren't quite so scary this time!!  Today, my Grandma Edna and Jim came by with MORE presents! On Sunday we will get to see some of my Daddy's extended family for a belated Christmas gathering.  It will be my first time meeting Great Grandma and Grandpa Mahoney!  Christmas won't really be over until January 11th this year, since that is when we will have our final holiday get together at Grandma Chris and Grandpa Jack's house. Merry Christmas everyone!

SNOW!!

Mommy says we haven't had this much snow in years!  We bundled up and walked the town today.  The snow is so pretty!  It is snowing again tonight, and the forecasters are saying there could be up to 6 inches of new snow overnight tonight.  We already have snow that comes up to Mommy and Daddy's shins at our house!  It sure makes it feel like Christmas!

Now it's Daddy's turn to carry me!
Looking out over the Puget Sound and the Kingston Ferry terminal.  There were two scuba divers in the water... crazy!!

Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland

Mommy and I went on a winter walk today!  It was only in the 20's outside, but Mommy was tired of being indoors, and figured I was too.  She bundled me up in my mittens and hat, and several thick blankets.  You could barely see me inside my stroller because there were so many blankets!  We're supposed to get more snow tonight and tomorrow... good thing Mommy is done with her Christmas shopping.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

It is snowing!  Mommy and Daddy bundled me up and took me outside for a few minutes.  My face got all wet from looking up at the snowflakes!  We put up our Christmas tree today.  Mommy and Daddy were going to get a real one, but then they realized that the car wasn't big enough to get it home with me in the backseat!  Daddy had bought a 4 foot tall artificial tree for the deck last year, and it fit perfectly in the front window of our new house.  It looks pretty now that it is all decorated!  We played Elvis Christmas music all afternoon, and tomorrow our little family is lighting the Advent candle at church.  It's beginning to look and feel like Christmas!

What are those white things?  Hey, my face is getting wet!!

A lady at the Post Office told me I wasn't hurting for food... how rude!!

I got a Jumperoo for Christmas from Mommy and Daddy.  Now I can bounce as much as I want!  My feet don't quite touch the ground yet though, so that's why there are blankets folded up underneath me.

Merry Christmas!

Rather than take me to see the Santa at the mall for Christmas pictures, Mommy and Daddy decided to dress ME up as Santa!  I wasn't very happy about it, but the pictures turned out pretty adorable!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

This is the one on our Christmas card!
Yes, that's a teeny tiny smile

I look more like an elf than Santa Claus in this one!

Introducing Santa with Binky... I was starting to get cranky!

Even with a Binky in my mouth, I can smile with my eyes!

I just keep on growing!

I'm getting so big!  I have chubby little cheeks, hands and thighs now!  I am very active.  I love to kick my feet and propel my arms until I am totally out of breath, and I laugh hysterically whenever someone lifts me under my arms and lets me bounce!  Mommy had to take me out of the church service yesterday, because I was being too playful during the sermon.  I am also very social.  I hate being ignored, and if I'm at a large gathering, I won't nap because I'd rather be interacting with everybody.  Mommy and Daddy have decided I'm definitely not an introvert!  They have also confirmed that I am a night owl, just like my Mommy.  My favorite schedule is to go to bed around midnight and get up around 10am.  Mommy and Daddy are trying very hard to break me of that habit and get me to go to bed earlier, but I always seem to revert back. Here are some of the latest pictures!

All bundled up in my bear suit for my daily walk with Mommy

I'm holding onto my toys now, and everything eventually makes its way to my mouth!

I like to grab noses too!!

Spoiled rotten... I made it into Mommy and Daddy's bed yet again!
