My Birthday, Part 1

Mommy and Daddy were both home today for my birthday, which made it super special! I got up at 7:30am, and we spent the morning doing some of my favorite things: taking a bath, eating breakfast, and rough-housing with Daddy! Mommy and Daddy let me open the presents they had bought for me, so I had some new toys to play with. I took a nap, and then we had lunch at PCC. I was more interested in throwing the food on the floor than putting it in my mouth! After lunch, we went to the Woodland Park Zoo. I had a really fun time in the Zoomazium, and loved looking at all of the animals in the exhibits. My favorite exhibit today was the nocturnal exhibit... I thought the armadillos were really funny! We ate ice cream at the zoo, and I took a short nap in my softpack while Mommy and Daddy finished walking around. When we got home, I had one more present to open from my Grandma Libby, we went on a walk, and then I got to eat a WHOLE cupcake! I ate all of the frosting off of the top, and then threw the cupcake on the ground. Then I realized how tired I was and completely fell apart. I slept in my swing, listening to my new lullaby CD, while Mommy and Daddy ate dinner. Then they carried me to bed. What a day! We get the keys to our new house tomorrow, and should be all moved in by next Monday. We are having my extended family over for a birthday party next weekend. I'll get to celebrate being one all over again!

Wow, a big box!
Perfect for climbing on top of!
I still like the box better than the actual present...
Oh, THAT is what was inside the box! I love my new blocks!

More pictures

Here are a few more pictures taken the middle of August. This is going to be a short entry, because I am more interested in the electrical cords underneath the computer than writing something right now!!

New Words

This morning, Mommy was feeding me breakfast in my high chair. I signed to her that I was "all done", and she started cleaning up. But, I didn't think she was moving fast enough, so I slammed my hands down on my tray and yelled, "ALL DONE!" That definitely got mommy's attention! She told Daddy that she's going to have to teach me the sign language for PLEASE next! I am getting very close to being ready to try taking my first steps. I let go of the changing table and stood up on my own for a few seconds today. Mommy and Daddy can't wait to show me our new house. They think I will be much happier having extra room to roam!

11 months old

My Mommy apologizes for not keeping the camera charged this past month... sorry to those of you who were waiting for some new pictures of me! A lot has happened since July 4th. The most exciting news is that we are going to be moving into a bigger house! It is going to have 3 bedrooms and 1 3/4 bath, and is only about a block away from where we currently live. Mommy and Daddy are still working out the details, but it looks like we will be moving either the very end of August, or over Labor Day weekend. We are all very excited about it! I finally got my third tooth after months of painful teething, and Mommy thinks I'm probably going to get one more on the bottom and two more on top fairly soon. I have also learned the word "up". I say it whenever I pull myself up to standing. I am thinking about trying to take some steps soon, but haven't been quite brave enough yet. Now that I have learned to stand, and open drawers and cupboards, it is quite the challenge for Mommy and Daddy to keep me from falling down or pinching my fingers! I am eating three solid meals a day now, and I still love my Mommy's milk. Mommy and Daddy keep waiting for the day when I decide to sleep through the night... it hasn't happened yet! They are very hopeful that I will have an easier time at night once we have moved to our new house and are not on such a noisy street. So, there is what is new with me! My Mommy said to tell you that the blog updates will be much more regular now that our camera is working again!
Let the packing begin!!
What Mommy? I'm just sitting here... I'm not going to knock over the diaper pail.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! Mommy and Daddy decorated my stroller and we walked in the Edmonds Parade behind the North Sound Church float. I slept through the whole thing! Daddy pushed my stroller while Mommy handed out gumballs and water bottles to the people on the sidewalk. After that, we barbecued hamburgers at our house with my Grandma Libby and Great Grandma Ellen. I had my first taste of macaroni salad, and also tried some shrimp, which I thought was kind of disgusting. Mommy and Daddy and I took a nice walk through town and went to the beach this afternoon. We are going to the Edmonds fireworks show tonight. We told all of our relatives that they could park at our house for the show tonight, so we'll see who ends up coming!

I only kept the hat on long enough for Mommy to snap a few pictures!
Relaxing in my front yard, watching the parade traffic go by.

Another milestone

I have learned how to pull up! I did it for the first time last week on the shelf of my changing table. Since then I have been practicing on anything that looks sturdy enough to climb. Oh, and I've learned how to climb the stairs too. My poor Mommy and Daddy are exhausted from chasing me all over the house! I am really good at finding everything I am not supposed to have. In the last 48 hours, I have tried to eat a cherry pit, a plastic outlet plug, a cell phone charger, the plastic cap to a small bottle, and a handful of grass, among other things.
Pulling up on the couch, munching on the camera case
Not tired, Mommy.
Ha ha! Look what I can do!!
