Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!  My second cousin Rachael bought me a little pumpkin outfit, and Mommy couldn't wait to put it on me!  I'm growing so fast, that when Mommy pulled out the sweater I'm wearing in these pictures, it was already almost too small!  The sweater and bonnet were a gift from my Great Grandma and Grandpa Thomson.  They belonged to my Grandpa Earl when he was a baby.  I feel very lucky to have them since I never actually got to meet my Grandpa.  I know he is looking down from heaven and smiling at what an adorable grandson he has!

I can sit up now, as long as I am wedged in the corner of the chair!

2 Month Update

I had my two month check up with Dr. Bennett yesterday.  Daddy wasn't able to get home from work in time for my appointment, so Mommy had to take me all by herself.  I got so animated during my exam that I soaked my diaper.  Then I had to get my shots.  I was vaccinated for seven different things, which meant three pokes in the thigh and some oral drops.  Mommy said she has never heard me cry so loudly.  I was in hysterics by the end of it all.  But then Mommy nursed me, and I calmed down.  I got scared when she laid me on my back to put my clothes back on because I thought it was time for more shots, so I started crying all over again.  Since the appointment, I haven't had a fever or soreness, but I have been feeling the need to be held whenever I am awake.  I am 24 inches long now (95th percentile), my head is 16 1/2 inches around (95th percentile), and I weigh 10 lbs 14oz (50th percentile).  Mommy had fun with the camera today... here are the pictures!

Mommy has said from the day I was born that I have my Grandpa Earl's eyes... what do you think?

Playtime!!

I'm becoming a big boy!  Mommy had to fold up all of my newborn sized clothes and put them on the top shelf of the closet today.  It made her kind of sad!  I'm wearing 0-3 month size in most clothes now, sometimes 3-6 month if it runs small.  I am staying awake much more during the day now, which means I'm starting to enjoy my toys!  Mommy and I turned music on and danced and played for almost an hour this afternoon, and then I had playtime again around dinner time.  Here are some pictures from this evening!

Party boy

Mommy and Daddy had their first night out last night. They went to dinner and the Celine Dion concert. I partied hard with Grandma Libby and several visitors while they were gone. I was awake from 4pm until midnight because I was having so much fun, that I just couldn't stand to go to sleep! I'm paying for it now though... this is the picture mommy took of me around noon today. I'm so tired that by the time I finish a meal, I'm already asleep. I think I might just sleep the whole day! Oh, and in case you're thinking I'm looking a little plump, I gained over a pound this week. I weigh 11.5 pounds now!

I am almost six weeks old now, and I am starting to be very expressive.  Mommy took these pictures this morning when I was super alert.  Now I am napping in her lap, making her type with one hand!  I have decided that the only places I really like sleeping right now are in my swing, in somebodies arms,  or in the king sized bed next to Mommy.  This has been tough on Mommy and Daddy at night.  They'd really like me to sleep in my crib for longer than a few minutes at a time!

Mommy caught me smiling!  I love to talk and smile right after I wake up from a nap.  Mommy thought I was feeling heavier, and stepped on the bathroom scale with me last night.  She was shocked to find out that I weighed 10 whole pounds!  That means I've gained over a pound in the last week!

A very important visitor

My Uncle Joe flew in from Chicago late last night so that he could meet me for the first time!  I couldn't take my eyes off of him when he was here.  I showed him my eating abilities by polishing off a 5oz bottle in his arms.  I'm looking forward to spending lots of time with him over the next few days!
