Jamison is still in the special care nursery, but he is doing really well. He was able to come off of his nasal canula and start breathing room air yesterday late in the afternoon, and he is now nursing every 3 hours with Mommy. This morning, they decided to put him under the biliruben lights since he was borderline jaundiced, so he will be under them for at least the next 24 hours. L&D has been extremely busy today, so it is possible Mommy is going to lose her room. They are hoping if that happens that they will be able to transfer her to a boarding room in a nearby wing, but the worst case scenario would be that she has to go home. Mommy is tired, because she is only able to sleep about an hour at a time between feedings since Jamison is nursing and then Mommy is pumping to store up the extra milk. Mommy is pretty sure Jamison's eyes are going to be brown! He is super cute, and we are all very thankful that he is continuing to get stronger. It looks like it will be early to middle of the week before he is discharged, because he is still having some little episodes where he forgets to breathe and his heart rate dips. They are few and far between, but still require that he be watched carefully on the monitors. He should be getting off of his IV fluids within the next day or so, which will mean one less thing connected to his little body!
